Last week’s weekly challenge: Hands

I’m a bit behind in these weekly challenges, but I assume no one will hold it against me πŸ™‚ The “hands” challenge was a tough one. What I learned from this challenge is that I don’t like the look of hands in photos. I guess I’m not a hands photographer. So, I took it another route… Let me know what you think!

Up a tree….

While at the zoo on the weekend, we were followed by birds of all kinds after our popcorn. The peacocks were traveling in pairs around the whole park and zoo area. This one decided just to camp out up in a tree, calling out to his friends. Making a most interesting noise that I can’t even describe. What I found fascinating about this bird in a tree was how his long tail feathers blended it with the pine needles and branches! I had never noticed how well they can camouflage those beautiful colorful feathers..

Stop…

Walking around the neighborhood, I always see this sign. Just an average stop sign. Someone decided to use it to spread a message. While I agree with their idea, I’m not thrilled with their methods… The other excitement in this photo is the sky. The clouds were moving so fast with beautiful blue sky in between them. By the time I walked around this block, the clouds had changed to a sea of grey, no more blue..Always amazed at how quick the clouds change….

Butterfly on the ground…

On one of our walks this week, Lucy and I found this butterfly. I almost didn’t see him in the mulch, he was pretty well camouflaged. I took this quick shot and then while I was changing settings on my camera to take another, he flew away. It was a quick precious moment!

Frog Friday…..

We don’t live near water. We don’t have a man-made pond in the backyard. This little guy didn’t care. He decided to take a peak into our world. So, I grabbed my camera. He hung on to the glass door for a good half hour or more! Β Kind of cute, don’t you think? πŸ™‚
