Been away for a week…

We just got back from spending 5 days in Walt Disney World. I tried to challenge myself to look for photos that I have not taken before. Doesn’t sound like a tough thing to do, does it? Well, it was tough! Β This time I just tried to look for different perspectives/angles/etc…I found a few πŸ™‚

A perfect getaway….

For me it is perfect. Yes, there are crowds. Yes, it is pricey. Yes, it can have super hot weather. It is also a chance to go back to a place that doesn’t change, but always has new things to see and do. You get to wear funny hats, and no one thinks you’re weird. Run around like a big little kid! It is the craziest stress free place for me! Have to start the count down soon…

Still not sure what these are….

Saw these on the beach in Long Boat Key last February. Still haven’t figured out exactly what they are. To me they look like pearls on the beach.. but they were soft.. maybe eggs ? egg cases? some other life stage of an organism? They made a really pretty trail on the beach… so that’s good enough for now.. πŸ™‚

An Escape from the Gloom….

Today in NJ, it’s rainy and grey. I’m sitting here thinking of a happier time and beautiful weather! Β A Long Boat Key sunset is right up there at the top of the list of places to go to escape. The perfect escape for me!

It’s Lunch time…

Say hello to one of the manatees that live at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Florida. They chow down on romaine lettuce quite often. This was an awesome moment where I just stood face to face with him for about 5 or 10 minutes… Such a beautiful mammal!

Always look behind you…

When photographing sunsets, I always make sure to turn around. The sky is usually just as interesting behind you. This is the sky over Long Boat Key, Fl. If anyone knows who lives in that house, please introduce us… would love to borrow it for a week or more! πŸ™‚

Inhabitants of South Lido Key State Park….

Decided to walk the trails of South Lido Key Beach while in Long Boat Key, Fl. The trails were great, well marked and the surrounding area was beautiful. Mangroves galore! What got our attention and respect were all of the very LARGE spiders that we encountered. Their webs were all over. We had to duck here and there, lean to one side or another just to avoid the webs. I was very nervous that I would accidentally destroy a web and have a spider crawling all over my head! Luckily I did not! After some research, found out that these are Golden Orb-web spiders. They actually are really neat looking spiders, just at a distance!
