Yes, it is October…

“Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He’s gotta pick this one. He’s got to. I don’t see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there’s not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see.” -Linus from It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Alien at my window…

I was not prepared to take insect portraits today, but when I saw this guy through my window I had to run outside and take a few photos. He (or she…) kept turning his head to look at me. I’m sure he doesn’t realize just how fascinating he is!

The last one…

The butterflies have left our garden. Summer is coming to an end. Here is one last shot to hold you over until next year! Now, time to focus on some fall foliage 🙂

The first of many…

Summer is just about over, but I’m still seeing daily butterfly visitors in the backyard. Our butterfly bushes have grown to the size of a small tree! They are beautiful though, so I’ve been waiting until the season is over to cut them back. Luckily for me, plenty of photo opportunities!
