Saw these on the beach in Long Boat Key last February. Still haven’t figured out exactly what they are. To me they look like pearls on the beach.. but they were soft.. maybe eggs ? egg cases? some other life stage of an organism? They made a really pretty trail on the beach… so that’s good enough for now.. 🙂
Today in NJ, it’s rainy and grey. I’m sitting here thinking of a happier time and beautiful weather! Â A Long Boat Key sunset is right up there at the top of the list of places to go to escape. The perfect escape for me!

On Saturday, we put Lucy in her stroller and Frankie on his leash and went hiking through Allaire State Park . There is a small colonial village and multiple trails through the woods. We hiked the green and red trails. This is one of the views along the way. I love the hidden bridge and of course all the color (yes, i took this shot last fall..). The view looked the same this past Saturday, just minus the red! Here is the flowering plum tree in the corner of our backyard. I had to take advantage of its blooming flowers and photograph it. When I was looking at the tree, what I found most interesting is how it stood out from the flowering trees and bushes behind it. Keep an eye out for more shots of this beautiful tree…. Enjoy!
I love the beaches in Florida, but I also love some of the inland sections too! This hanging moss can be found all over in the woods down there, very different than what you find up here in NJ. I think it looks very interesting when the light shines through it! (I took this while hiking the trails at Myakka State Park, outside of Sarasota, Fl)
Unfortunately this is not what I saw this morning, but I did see it one morning two summers ago! It was such a beautiful sunrise in Wild Wood, NJ. My husband and I lost our flip-flops that morning to the “vacuums” on the beach, but it was worth it! (Next time, I won’t take my flip-flops off!)
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about spring time and everything that goes along with it! So, I found this butterfly photo to join in the fun! This was actually taken in the summer, but the colors are spring to me… taken while walking through sand dunes in Wild Wood, NJ. Can’t wait for Memorial Day weekend, first trip to the shore!
