Kicking it at home….

Not necessarily a piece of art, but a photograph none the less. Around this house Lucy has the most laundry! 2 to 3 times a week..Just one of the many activities that keep me busy around here!

Behind the scenes…

While I am running around to get daily chores done, Donovan continues to enjoy his sun spot…but behind the scenes Lucy is focused on her favorite afternoon show (something on Nick Jr.) For now, this is the distance from Lucy that Donovan prefers!

Bringing you back to our house…

Starting a series of “scenery” in our house. Our crazy house filled with animals, adults and a child. Here is one of the more peaceful moments. Donovan searched all over the downstairs until he found the sun. He found it on the back of the sofa and decided to look right into it!

America the Beautiful…

My dad took this shot while traveling out west with my mom. These snow covered mountains are the Grand Tetons. I love the reflection and the colors in this photo. As I have said before, Dad has a great eye! I’d like to thank my Dad for being a guest photographer on my blog, and I look forward to sharing more of his “work”!

Always look behind you…

When photographing sunsets, I always make sure to turn around. The sky is usually just as interesting behind you. This is the sky over Long Boat Key, Fl. If anyone knows who lives in that house, please introduce us… would love to borrow it for a week or more! 🙂

Inhabitants of South Lido Key State Park….

Decided to walk the trails of South Lido Key Beach while in Long Boat Key, Fl. The trails were great, well marked and the surrounding area was beautiful. Mangroves galore! What got our attention and respect were all of the very LARGE spiders that we encountered. Their webs were all over. We had to duck here and there, lean to one side or another just to avoid the webs. I was very nervous that I would accidentally destroy a web and have a spider crawling all over my head! Luckily I did not! After some research, found out that these are Golden Orb-web spiders. They actually are really neat looking spiders, just at a distance!

Homosassa…..

I was inspired this morning by Humbled Pie (www.humbledpie.wordpress.com). He posted some photos from Homosassa, Fl. I’ve been there many times to visit the manatees (wild and captive). This is not the best manatee photo, but it is one of my favorites from when we visited Homosassa Springs park. They have quite a few manatees who are there year round. This manatee arrived because one of the volunteers was about to do an educational presentation that involved feeding them carrots. They were crazy for those carrots!

No further than your own backyard…

Here is the flowering plum tree in the corner of our backyard. I had to take advantage of its blooming flowers and photograph it. When I was looking at the tree, what I found most interesting is how it stood out from the flowering trees and bushes behind it. Keep an eye out for more shots of this beautiful tree…. Enjoy!
