This is a view out over Monmouth Battlefield in Freehold, NJ. We lived here a couple years before we realized how close this was to our house, just about 20 minutes…so much has been built up around this battlefield, it is amazing that they have been able to preserve it at all!

Being a traveler sometimes I do not realize how many people do not venture past the boundary of their own towns. People on Long Island that have not been to NYC, people in Maryland that have not been to Washington, DC. I say be a tourist in your own area first, it will open your eyes. Nice post – DogDaz
